Rainbow Lacinato Kale

Brassica oleracea

Rainbow Lacinato Kale is a cross breed between the Redbor and Lacinato Kales by Frank Morton. Deep green leaves with ruffling at the edges and bright purple stems distinguish this kale.

Storage: Store kale in a plastic bag. It will keep up to one week.

Preparation: Fill a large bowl or salad spinner with cold water, add kale, and swish it around to remove sand and dirt. Wait a minute to let the sediment settle to the bottom, then pull out the kale, dump the water, and repeat until basil is clean. Dry thoroughly by rolling with towels. Remove the tough stem before use.

Taste: Mild peppery, tender

Nutritional Benefits: Where to begin! Kale is high in iron for overall health, vitamin K and antioxidants for cancer prevention, vitamin A for eye health, vitamin C for immunity, and calcium for bone health.
