Turnips
Storage: Turnips can be stored in a container in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator for three weeks.
Preparation: Cut off ends of turnips and wash well under cold water to remove any dirt. Winter turnips should be peeled but baby turnips do not need to be.
Taste: Earthy, sweet when cooked, bitter when raw.
Nutritional Benefits: Turnips have glucosinolates which help prevent cancer and fight harmful bacteria.
