Storage: Store refrigerated, unwashed. Edamame will stay fresh for 7 days.

Preparation: Give edamame a quick rinse before cooking, then boil the pods in salted water or steam and sprinkle with a bit of sea salt. Serve hot or cold.

Taste: Nutty, buttery, mild

Nutritional Benefits: One cup edamame has at least 6 percent of the recommended daily intake of all nutrients except vitamin D. It is a complete protein food also containing protein, fiber, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, thiamin, folate and vitamin K. Finally, edamame contains active ingredients similar to estrogen to help lower cholesterol and ease menopause.
