Great Performances
Great Performances, the leading New York City based catering company purchased the land for Katchkie Farm in 2006 to connect its chefs and clients to where the food comes from. Today Katchkie Farm has expanded to supply a CSA and farmers markets, but it still sends the bulk of its produce to Great Performances’ kitchen.
The GP-Katchkie collaboration goes beyond that of buyer-producer; Katchkie Farm is an integral piece of the “GP Family.” Katchkie Farm inspired the 100-Mile Menu that allows clients to choose local, seasonal dishes for their events. Great Performances’ chefs developed the recipes for the Katchkie Farm Products. Together the farm and catering company produce an annual Farm to Table Dinner Series–one occuring in the fields of Katchkie Farm, the other in the courtyard behind the Great Performances kitchen in Soho. Events like the Katchkie Farm Fall Harvest Festival and Spring Planting Day bring the catering company staff, clients and their families to the farm.
The Katchkie Farm motto rings true for Great Performances too: “Our passion starts at seed.”
