REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THE 2012 SEASON. Please join us in 2013!
Do you want to make an investment in local, organic agriculture? Do you dream of having organic produce delivered to your neighborhood each week? Do you want to expand your cooking repertoire by learning to cook with everything from garlic scapes to celery root? Then consider joining the Katchkie Farm CSA at Café Mae Mae.
What’s a CSA?
Our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Program is a direct market relationship where members pay for a season of produce before the season begins, making an investment in our farm. Beginning in June you can pick up your weekly share from Katchkie Farm at Café Mae Mae every Wednesday afternoon. The share will consist of 8-11 different veggies each week, depending on the farm’s availability. Each share will arrive pre-bagged in a reusable grocery bag that you can bring home with you at the end of the season. Members must return bags each week to receive the following week’s share.
When and Where?
Starting June 13 and ending November 7, the Mae Mae CSA will be distributed at Café Mae Mae (68 Vandam Avenue) on Wednesdays from 3pm-7pm. That’s 22 weeks of organic, farm fresh vegetables for you and your family!
How much does it cost?
For the 2012 season, the Katchkie Farm CSA share will cost $530.
Tell me more about Katchkie Farm!
Katchkie Farm is a certified organic farm in Kinderhook, New York. Owned by catering company Great Performances, a portion of the harvest is used by the catering company, a portion is dedicated to our CSA, while the rest is sold at farmer’s markets in New York City and used in our unique line of artisanal sauces. Since 2006, Farm Manager Bob Walker has turned an unfarmed parcel of land into a gorgeous, thriving farm, growing nearly seventy different vegetables on 12 acres. As we like to say on the farm, “Our passion starts at seed.”
What will I get over the course of the season?
This year, Katchkie Farm will be growing:
Artichokes, Arugula, Fava Beans, Beets, Bok Choi, Brazing Greens, Broccoli, Broccoli Raab, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage (mini, Chinese, red, green), Cantaloupe, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery Root, Collard Greens, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Fennel, Garlic, Greens, Basil, Dill, Parsley, Cilantro, Kale, Kohlrabi, Leeks, Lettuce Heads, Okra, Onion, Parsnip, Pas, Peppers (bell and hot), Radishes, Romanesco, Rutabaga, Scallions, Spinach, Summer Squash, Swiss Chard, Tomatillos, Tomatoes (beefsteak, plum, cherry, heirloom), Turnips, Winter Squash (butternut, delicata), Zucchini
While we don’t grow potatoes or green beans, because of their popularity, for the first time this year we’ll be supplying them from neighboring (organic) farms to bring to you and your family as part of the share!
Volunteer Requirement
The Mae Mae CSA will not have a volunteer requirement in its inaugural year, however CSA members are responsible for returning their bags each week so that we can pack the following week’s share.
We are also looking to form a “Core Team” of volunteers for the CSA. If you are interested in becoming a member of the team that will help plan events augmenting the community aspect of the CSA, please contact info [at] katchkiefarm [dot] com.

By purchasing a share in the Mae Mae CSA below, I agree to the following:

I understand that the pickup will take place every Wednesday, June 13 through November 7 from 3pm-7pm.
Deliveries not picked up will not be refunded. Shareholders may arrange for another person to pick up the share in their stead if they are out of town or unable to pick up the share.
Please register me as a member of the Mae Mae Community Supported Agriculture Program (CSA)with Katchkie Farm for the upcoming growing season of 2012.
